Dr Rachel Bidgood

Dr Rachel grew up in the UK and completed a first-class honours degree in Nutrition and then went on to complete her medical degree at St Mary’s College, London University in 1986 and her GP training in North West London in 1990 in the UK. With her love of travel, she has worked as a doctor in many countries, including the UK, India, Canada, New Zealand and Australia - finally choosing to live in beautiful Mackay. She has practiced in Mackay since 1993, initially practicing from Caneland Medical Centre.
In 2005, she started One Stop Medical in The Dome as a provider of support services to general practitioners and occupational health specialists. She was also one of the directors of the Mater Private After Hours and provided urgent after-hours care for the community of Mackay for many years. Dr Rachel now works from just one medical centre: One Stop Medical, where she really enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients. She has special interests in preventative health (keeping people well), menopause care, stress management, women’s and children’s health, travel medicine and youth health at her Youth Clinic (on Thursday afternoons).
She is also a member of Royal Australian College of GPs, Australian Medical Association, and Australasian College of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine. Dr Rachel is also an Examining Medical Officer (EMO) for the Department of Natural Resources, Mines & Energy (DNRME). When Dr Rachel is not practicing medicine, she loves to keep active with running, swimming, cycling, mini triathlons, tennis, dancing & spending time with her partner & 3 adult children.

Dr Rillera completed a Bachelor of Science (Biology) in 1986 at the De la Salle University of Manila, Philippines, followed by his postgraduate degree (Doctor of Medicine) at the University of East Ramon, Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Philippines in 1991.
He has worked as an ER doctor and family doctor in the Philippines, until moving to work as a GP at One Stop Medical in January 2009.
Dr Joseph successfully passed his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in May 2012 and is now a Specialist Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
His special interests are in General Practice and he particularly enjoys adult medicine and children’s health.

Dr Jeah (Surbhi) Bhalla

Dr Jeah (Surbhi) Bhalla completed her medical training in 2004 at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, India. Since then, she has worked as a general practitioner and in women’s health initially in India and now for many years in Australia.
Dr Jeah passed her Part 1 and 2 Australian Medical Council exams in 2007 and 2012 respectively. In 2013, she successfully obtained her Diploma in Child Health at one of Australia's top universities; University of Sydney.
Dr Jeah’s previous 5 years medical work in a women’s health clinic in Sydney provided her with a wealth of experience in treating menopausal symptoms associated with hormone imbalance, including hormone replacement therapy.
She has been working as a GP in Mackay since 2016. Dr Jeah enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a special interest in women’s health, including implanon insertions and removals, paediatrics, and skin cancer checks and excisions. She is an Examining Medical Officer (EMO) for Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme (Formerly Coal Board Medicals), and also performs other Pre-Employment Medicals.
In her free time, Dr Jeah spends time with her husband as well as reading & playing with her daughter. She loves to read, watch movies, documentaries, tending to her pot plants & catching up & friends and family on the weekends.
Dr Ritam Jain

After graduating as a doctor from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College (BVDUMC), Pune in India in 2005, Dr Jain moved to Australia in 2008 and went on to complete a Masters of Health Management in 2009 and a Masters of Public Health in 2010 at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
In-between being a GP and a full-time student, he spent 5 years working in women’s health in Sydney, with a primary focus on menopause and other related conditions.
Dr Ritam enjoys many aspects of general practice, with a keen interest in paediatrics, musculoskeletal medicine and skin cancer. He is also qualified to perform insertion and removal of implanons.
Dr Ritam has undertaken formal training in skin cancer and performs regular skin cancer checks, biopsies and skin excisions. He also conducts Pre-Employment Medicals and Work Injury Consultations, adding variety to his daily work schedule.
Dr Ritam has a young daughter and shares the responsibility of parenting with his wife. He is a dog lover and would love to add one to his family in the near future. An avid sportsperson in his younger years, he now likes to watch soccer and follows the premier league religiously; enjoys cooking and watches his favourite TV series in his free time.

Dr Irina graduated from her medical degree with First Degree Honours at Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, Russia in 2003 where she was the top graduate of the year and university medallist. She then completed two years of ear nose and throat (ENT) surgery training at the same university and graduated with a specialist certificate.
In 2005, Dr Irina moved to Australia and started her internship at Ipswich Hospital, QLD in 2007 and completed the Australian Medical Council examinations in 2008. In 2009-2013, she worked as a Senior Resident Medical Officer at Westmead, Concord Repatriation, Sydney Eye and St. Vincent’s Hospitals where she gained a diverse array of exposure in obstetrics and gynaecology, dermatology, renal medicine, intensive care, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery and psychiatry. The exposure to so many specialties has proven invaluable in her career as a general practitioner.
Dr. Irina joined the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program on the south coast of NSW 2014, passed her examinations in 2015 and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016 when she relocated to Mackay with her husband and two children. She also completed a Master of Philosophy in Medicine in Ophthalmic Sciences and Diploma of Child Health at University of Sydney. Furthermore, she also obtained the Certificate of Practical Dermoscopy, Australian College of Dermatologists as well as special training in sexual health and sleep studies.

Dr Reeshma Pattan

Dr Reeshma graduated from India and has over 15 years of post-graduate experience. She has extensive experience in paediatrics having worked as a junior Paediatric consultant before migrating to Australia in 2011. In Australia, she has worked in major hospitals (Royal Hobart Hospital, Monash medical centre, Melbourne and the Mackay Base hospital) and worked in various departments including Emergency medicine, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, General Medicine and General Surgery which has given her a wide range of skills. She is soon to be a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Reeshma has a special interest in Paediatrics, Women’s and preventative health, and advocates holistic family medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking and loves to spend time with her family and the backyard garden.
Dr Labiba Ahmad

Dr Labiba graduated as a doctor in 2009, gaining post graduate experience in Pakistan, before moving to Australia. Following completion of Australian Medical Council exams, Dr Labiba worked at Mackay Base Hospital in various specialities, including Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cardiology and Emergency. Dr Labiba completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs in 2024.
Dr Labiba really likes the continuity of care and holistic approach when looking after her patients in General Practice. Dr Labiba has three children, who keep her busy at home. In her free time, Dr Labiba loves watching movies, reading books and cooking.

Dr Chirag Mitra
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Chirag Mitra completed his medical studies at Volgograd State Medical University, in Russia in 2007.
After completing his medical degree with distinction, he worked as an Emergency Medical Officer for a couple of years in Northern India.
Dr Chirag later joined the Army Medical Corps Indian Army, where he served as a Regimental Medical Officer for 5 years, working mostly in North Eastern India, including the Himalayas. After retiring from the army, he moved to Australia in 2015.
Dr Chirag completed his Graduate Diploma in Public Health at La Trobe University Melbourne before starting as a GP in Emerald.
Dr Chirag also completed the Sydney Child Health Program in 2018 and Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2019.
Dr Chirag is a keen cricket lover and loves to spend time with his family and friends.
